Storyteller Tuesday Challenge: LOCAL LORE

Meet my great grandmother, Mrs. Mary Ella Williams, born April 9, 1874, three years before the end of Reconstruction, and one year before Blanche K. Bruce, an African American, was elected to the U. S. Senate, serving from 1875-1881. She died February 2, 1936. She was the third daughter of parents born free in 1850s Virginia and Georgia.
